Almost There

So I'm about four days away from leaving Chapel Hill, North Carolina for Brooklyn, and I am nowhere near packed enough. Neatly folded boxes lean against my red armchair, which is absolutely covered in stuffed animals and pillows and blankets and pieces of art that never got hung up. The boxes that ARE full are sitting in the middle of my room, making navigation a challenge. The majority of my extensive wardrobe is nestled happily in shelves or hanging in my closet. Everything I've bought for school is in their original plastic bags, leaning against the aforementioned middle-of-the-room boxes.

Good thing my plan for tomorrow consists entirely of video games and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

I find that the closer I get to actually leaving, the less I want to work towards it. Several weeks ago I was ready to pack up every single one of my belongings, only refraining due to my mother's desire to unpack, inspect, and repack everything I pack, which basically means we end up packing together. In any case, now that it's time to go, I find myself wanting to make these last few days fun by visiting friends, playing video games, and going to different places around town that I'll miss in the future.

Although these desires are probably understandable to others, they are far from practical. I should really be spending my time packing, so that I will have more time later on to see friends and goof around. However, as any other master procrastinator will tell you, saying and doing are two separate things.

And on that note, I leave you in order to play Arkham Asylum into the wee hours of the morning.
